Offered is the rare Humes High School commencement program from Elvis Presley's year of graduation, 1953. These programs, intended for quick, one-time use, tended to be discarded shortly after the ceremony. The program lists Elvis’ classmate George Klein as a speaker during the commencement ceremonies. George was not only class president and editor of The Herald (class paper) but also a dear friend to Elvis. The commencement ceremony was held in Ellis Auditorium on June 3, 1953 at 8:00 p.m. The commencement exercise program, listing Elvis Aron Presley, measures 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches and presents with mild toning and a fold across the middle. Excellent condition.
