Elvis Presley has beautifully signed the offered "Power of Attorney" agreement between him and his tax lawyers. The agreement was executed and signed by all parties on March 14, 1958, just 10 days before Elvis reported for induction to the United States Army. The form allows lawyers from two different Memphis firms to "execute, file and prosecute before the Bureau of Internal Revenue, United States Treasury  Department, all claims of refund, abatement or credit of any and all excessive taxes" for the years 1956 and 1957. And we imagine those were some hefty tax returns for the world's biggest selling recording artist AND biggest film box office star!! Attorneys Charles Davis and William Fisher have also signed the agreement that put them in charge of Elvis' taxes at the peak of his rising stardom. This was surely one of many contracts, forms and agreements that Elvis was executing before he left for his two year hitch which would send him to Texas and then on to Germany, tying up loose ends and preparing to be out of circulation for what must have seemed like a lifetime to the 22 year old. The agreement is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. Elvis has signed neatly and boldly on the 8 1/2 x 14 inch document which presents with only mild expected filing wear and with its original fold creases. Near Mint condition.
