Offered is an archive of Paramount Pictures documents releated to the launch of Elvis Presley's 1964 film Roustabout, which was released on November 10 of that year. When doing a major release of a film, studios would have any number of preview screenings for various press outlets. This group contains not only two different invitations to such screenings but internal Paramount documents concerning the planning of two such previews. Included:
- Roustabout Preview Invitation – for September 21, 1964 screening at the Studio Theatre in Hollywood, with bold red Paramount Logo;
- Roustabout Preview Invitation – for November 5, 1964 at the Studio Theatre in Hollywood, typewritten and mimeographed. THIS IS A LESSER SEEN VERSION OF A ROUSTABOUT INVITATION;
- Pair of “Preview Information” internal Paramount memos for September 21, 1964 preview screening, indicating the screening was for “Magazine & Foreign Press”;
- Three “Preview Information” internal Paramount memos for November 4, 1964 preview screening for “New York Trade Reviewers...with reviews to run Wednesday, November 11.” This is the day the film opened in theatres.
