Dick Perez Pen and Ink and Pencil Artwork Collection

This auction presents an offering of 12 lots of legendary baseball artist Dick Perez's interesting and intimate pen and ink and pencil artworks. The group may present as a departure from what collectors usually expect to see from Dick's trademark style, so full of color. But these drawings see a quieter, more considered artist at work--searching for an essence, seeking to capture a subject in just the right light and mood. Enjoy this access to a unique group of special artworks from Dick Perez.

"Bid Ed" Walsh ammassed the bulk of his 195 wins in just seven prime seasons in which he won 40 games one year 27 games twice! Walsh was a member of the 1906 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox, as well, but it was his win total and his still career-record 1.82 ERA that sealed his ticket to Cooperstown. Perez portrays an athlete exhibiting a calm that comes only from a sense of complete command of his form. The artwork measures 9 x 12 inches and presents in Near Mint to Mint condition.
