Please Note:
A portion of the proceeds from sale of the Elton John lots, 229–281, will be donated to The Elton John Aids Foundation.

The offered baseball cap was worn on stage by Elton John during his March 10, 1999, concert at Southern Illinois University's Arena in Carbondale, Illinois. The cap was later found by a sharp-eyed fan at his "Out of the Closet" Store when it opened on November 29, 2000, at its 51 Bond Street location in London. (see image at right of Elton John at the opening of the store) The store was open for only 10 days, with the proceeds from the sale of thousands of Elton John's garments and stage clothing going to charity. Accompanying the "Southern Illinois" baseball cap are six photos (all date stamped "3 10 99") of Elton wearing the cap on stage that night in Carbondale. It's no sequined Dodger uniform, but a Saluki fan will take what they can get! Also included is a ticket stub from the show and a letter from the fan explaining acquiring the cap that day in London. The "Classic Sportswear, Inc." cap is "One Size Fits All" and presents with just a bit of sweat staining in the inner band. Near Mint condition.
