The offered news service photo features Elvis Presley admiring a woman we only know as “Charlotte.” The attached caption reads “Charlotte and Elvis / Outstanding Tennesseans” - this expression was commonly used in the press to describe Tennessee residents of acclaim. There was an official award the Tennessee Governor could present called the “Outstanding Tennessean Award”, but there is no indication that is what is being referred to here. Regardless, the photo captures Elvis in mid-1960's form enjoying the company of Charlotte. The small photo undoubtedly emanates from a newsroom, as evidenced by the editorial improvements that were made around the female's head and chest. Apparently the photo editor thought Charlotte's top a bit too low cut—a blouse was airbrushed in, albeit to late to block Elvis' view! The photo measures 4 x 5 inches and presents in Near Mint condition with its original paper caption still stapled to the bottom.
