Offered is an impressive 14K gold ring with a large black star sapphire surrounded by four smaller diamonds. The ring was owned by Elvis Presley and later gifted to his girlfriend Shiela Ryan (Caan), whom Elvis dated after Linda Thompson in the 1970s. Sheila, an October 1973 Playboy cover girl, met Elvis in Las Vegas and was introduced to him by Joe Esposito. Later she married actor James Caan. Sadly, Sheila passed in 2012.

In 2004, the offered ring was brokered for Ms. Ryan by Joe Esposito. The copy of the "CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY" from Joe reads in part "I served Elvis Aron Presley as his personal confidant, Road Manager, co-best man at his wedding, and in a variety of other capacities from 1960 until his death on August 16, 1977...The black star sapphire ring was given to one of Elvis' girlfriends who asked me to sell it." Also included is a signed letter from Elvis-A-Rama Museum owner Chris Davidson detailing how in 2004 he purchased both this ring and another piece from Joe.

The size 8 1/2 ring weighs 20.9 grams, with a 4-5 carat black star sapphire and a total diamond weight of just under .75 carats. The ring shows signs of moderate wear--the "14K" and other makers markings on the rings interior are quite worn, but still partially visible. Near Mint condition.
