Offered is a lyric sheet from Elvis Presley's personal concert song binders for the song "Spanish Eyes." Elvis sang the song live more than 30 times between 1970 and 1974, so this sheet would have seen a lot of action! These song binders were maintained by photographer and assistant to Colonel Parker Ed Bonja during the 1970's touring days. It was common for Elvis to use these sheets on stage, sometimes just to get the song started, but he often carried them for the length of the song. Bonja describes his job of keeping the song binders organized in his accompanying signed letter: "Lyric sheets would be used by Elvis Presley for study, rehearsals, recording sessions and at times even on stage during concerts...Immediately following each 'use' of the Lyric Books, I would start my repairing process. Starting with Elvis' book, I would gather all the lyric sheets that had been used--they were normally left in a 'bu ch' at the front of the binder--and file them back in the proper alphabetical order. Often, the pages had been ripped out fo the binder." The lyric sheet measures 8 1/2 x 14 inches and displays with expected on-stage use. Excellent to Mint condition.
