Elvis would often stop at the gates of Graceland to visit with fans, especially in the late-1950s and early 1960s. The offered group of five 8 x 10 inch photos capture him in 1961 signing autographs and meeting his acolytes. The special thing about these particular photos are that they were actually owned by Elvis! The photos come from Elvis' cousin Patsy Presley and were sold to noted collector Tom Salva in the 1980s. Tom's letter accompanies and reads:

The item listed and show above has been in my personal Elvis Presley collection since the 1980s. I purchased this item, and many others, from Patsy Presley, Elvis Presley's cousin who worked as a secretary in the offices at Graceland for many years during Elvis' career. These photos belonged to Elvis personally and were found in Elvis' bedroom and given to Patsy during her time working at Graceland. The photos were taken by a fan at the gates of Graceland and most-likely give to Elvis by that fan. It was not uncommon for Elvis to go down to the gates and meet fans and give autographs.

The photos can be dated by a glimpse of Elvis' 1961 Cadillac Coupe De Ville in the background of several of the photos, with its characteristic swooping front windshield edge. These enlargements were most-likely printed in the 1970s, based on the Kodak markings on the reverse and the paper style. The photos measure 8 x 10 inches and present in Near Mint condition with just a little edge toning and fading.
