The offered huge, hand-painted Elvis Presley concert poster was made specifically for the added May 27, 1974, Memorial Day show at the High Sierra Room in the Sahara Tahoe Hotel & Casino. The poster is constructed on heavy poster board, with hand cut elements assembled on the surface, with the sign painter style painted text employed for the concert details. It's an incredible, extremely rare example of an Elvis 1970's concert poster. Only one other has ever surfaced.
Elvis opened his shows at this venue on May 16 and would have ended on May 26, until Elvis added a special performance that began at 3 a.m. Monday morning the 27. During this engagement, Elvis had played two shows a night, missing only two performances due to the flu. Later on the 27 was the opening of the Jackson Five show at the Sahara, to which Jerry Schilling and Myrna Smith took Lisa Marie, and which was likely the first meeting of Lisa Marie and her future husband, Michael Jackson. The bright, bold poster that was created for this extra performance displays Elvis’ name three times in neon letters over a gold star with the date and time affixed to the center. This exceptional poster on cardboard measures 44 by 28 inches and presents with expected wear from use, but is intact. Excellent to Mint condition.
