Offered are three photos of Elvis Presley on stage performing on September 26, 1956, in Tupelo, Mississippi. There are two shots from the evening show and one shot from the daytime show. Elvis made his triumphant return to Tupelo, Mississippi to perform a pair of shows in his hometown. Having first performed there at the age of ten, Elvis once again took the stage at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair & Dairy Show for this legendary appearance. Elvis’ fame was spreading rapidly across the nation and his hometown could not have been prouder. Elvis returned to a huge banner that read “Tupelo Welcomes Elvis Presley Home” and Tupelo mayor James Ballard presented Elvis with the guitar-shaped Key to the City, while Mississippi governor J.P. Coleman read a proclamation honoring Elvis. The photos each measure 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches and have a processing stamp of "24" on the reverse. All  three have been folded in at least one spot, most-likely for wallet storage. The photos don't have the expected glossy finish for period photographic prints. Excellent condition overall.
