Offered is a 1910's Type 1 news service photograph of Boston Red Sox great Duffy Lewis. During the 1910s, he was a member of Boston's "Golden Outfield". For decades after they last played together, Duffy Lewis, Tris Speaker, and Harry Hooper, who toiled next to each other for six years in the Deadball Era, was often considered the greatest in baseball history. The photo captures Lewis during off-season training chopping wood. The photograph measures 5 x 7 1/4 inches and presents with expected newsroom wear and notations on the reverse. Excellent condition.
