Offered is an original news service photo capturing then-Crown Prince Hirohito of Japan during a visit to London on May 21, 1921. The International news service photo still maintains its original paper caption which reads in part "The Japanese Crown Prince Dons Occidental Attire / 'When in London do as the Londoners do' is apparently the motto of Crown Prince Hirohito of Japan who is here shown in correct Occidental attire leaving the Chersterfield House in London for a sightseeing trip of the city." The photo is remarkable well-preserved and measures 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. The period "International" stamping on the reverse is bold just above several period handwritten editorial notations. Near Mint condition.
