Offered is a 1940 original news service photo of Hall of Famers Ted Williams congratulating Jimmy Foxx as he crosses home plate. Foxx had just hit a solo home run against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday, June 15, 1940, and Williams was following him in the batting order that day. The "International News Photos" stamping on the back shows the address of news service's Chicago address. The photo measures 8 ½ x 5 ½ inches and presents with small pieces of tape on each border. The back stampings are fairly bold but slightly obscured by newsroom keylining wax. Very Good to Excellent condition.
