Encapsulated Authentic by PSA/DNA. Offered is a Joe DiMaggio signed TYPE I photograph that captures Joe's iconic swing on June 29, 1941, at Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C. on the very day he tied and then broke George Sisler's then-record 41 consecutive game hit streak during a double header. Incredibly, the original news service photograph was signed by DiMaggio in the period, and reads "Best Wishes to a real nice guy from Joe DiMaggio." To acquire a TYPE I photo of this historic image is certianly a hallmark for any collector, but to add a signed example, and further one signed in the period, is an absolute collecting achievement. The 7 x 9 inch photo presents with expected newspaper editorial markings on the reverse, including "Joe DiMag" written in pencil. The photo still maintains a remnant of its New York Daily Mirror paper caption, as well. The Mirror and the International News Service were both part of the Hearst newspaper empire in the period. Also accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA for the photograph certification and an LOA from Beckett Authentic. Near Mint condition.

1941 Joe DiMaggio Signed "The Swing" TYPE I Photograph - Only Known Period-Signed Example in Existence! (PSA/DNA Encapsulated)
