Offered is a 1947 Type I original news service photo of Cardinals great Ducky Medwick with his son, Joe. The ACME Pictures original paper caption on the reverse dates the photo to August 12, 1947, and reads "St. Louis, MO: Joe "Ducky" Medwick, hard sluggin pinch-hitter for the St. Louis Cardinals, is show with his son Joe "Mickey" Medwick Jr., 9 years old. "Ducky" is partially responsible for the Cardinal's present position in the National League pennant race." The photo measures 8x 10 inches and presents with stunning contrast and clarity, with expected editorial usage defects. Near Mint condition.
