Graded SGC FAIR 1.5. Offered is an interesting and extremely presentable example of Mickey Mantle's true rookie card, the 1951 Bowman #253 card. The odd factory cut and edge wear dictate the technical grade, but the color and image clarity are strong. Amazingly, this card and another seven '51 Bowmans have been kept together as a collection since they were all taken from thier packs by one kid in 1951--the other cards are offered as the next lot in this auction. They also have the same factory cut that offsets the white borders. It's very unusal to see cards taken from the same couple of packs kept together for more than 70 years!
