This super-rare 1955 "Gene Autry Guitar" offering from the "Emenee Musical Toys" company line of merchandise is the visual centerpiece to any early music collection. The guitar has a faux wood marbleized body and neck design with a black facing. The guitar body has several figural surface images of Autry and his name. The instrument comes in a custom cardboard case with a printed alligator skin finish, with the original plastic carrying handle. Inside the case lid's interior is a color image of Gene Autry in all his singing cowboy glory. Printed text in the same area reads, "Emenee Musical Toys / Easy to Play - No Lessons Needed / Gene Autry Guitar / With Automatic Chord Player and Book of Songs." The guitar measures 31 by 11 inches, and the case measures 12 3/4 by 33 by 4 inches. The guitar and box presents with moderate wear. The pictorial interior cover remains intact and very bold and bright. Also included are the Gene Autry Cowboy Guitar Songbook, Emenee brochure and the Chord Player. These other small items are almost always missing. The chord player does have a small piece of missing plastic. Excellent condition overall, with the guitar technically lesser due to the repair.
