In 1956, Hank Saperstein along with Elvis Presley and Colonel Tom Parker began creating merchandise featuring their new star in order to capitalize on his following and fan craze. Under the umbrella of Elvis Presley Enterprises, a merchandising machine was started that contracted multiple manufacturers to produce a variety of goods with Elvis' likeness that included t-shirts, shoes, pencils, purses, scrapbooks, toys, dolls, games, glasses, hats, clothing and much more. These new treasures flew off the shelves as fans flocked to collect anything and everything bearing the image of their idol. As a result of the popularity and affordability of the merchandise, most items were lovingly used and adored, and did not survive the test of time.

The Record Case, like the one offered here, saw a ton of use, normally, and is very tough to find because of that. It's stamped on the reverse "Copyright 1956 By Elvis Presley Enterprises All Rights Reserved," and on the spine in raised black letters "Record Case" with a guitar, record and two white musical notes. The record case measures 7 5/8 by 7 5/8 by 2 1/4 inches and presents missing its strap and with some separations at the binding edges. Very Good to Excellent condition.
