Offered is an incredible six-foot long 1956 hand-painted movie theatre canvas banner promoting Elvis Presley's debut film Love Me Tender. The banner stretches six-feet long with grommets at the corners. It would have been displayed on the outside of a local theatre making the most of the new rock and roll and Hollywood sensation, Elvis Presley. It reads “See Elvis Presley in The New 20th Century Fox Picture 'LOVE ME TENDER'”. While standard-issue posters, lobby cards and other promotional items from The National Screen Service are readily available to collectors, one-of-a-kind pieces like the offered banner are truly rare. The banner measures 30 x 72 inches and presents with signs of heavy use and display in the elements, including some small tears, edge wear and color wear in the hand-painted areas. The upper right corner shows a larger separation. The reverse has been reinforced with a number of pieces of tape. Very Good to Excellent condition.
