Offered is an original news service photo of serial killer Ed Gein taken at the Wisonsin State Crime Laboratory shortly after his arrest in connection with the "butcher-slaying of a Plainfield (Wisconsin) widow and finding of bones of humans at his run-down farm." Gein served as the inspiration for a myriad of fictional serial killers, most notably, Norman Bates (Psycho), Leatherface (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) and Buffalo Bill (The Silence of the Lambs). The reverse of the photo shows an early editorial date stamp of "NOV 27 1957" dating it to the month the photo was taken, though the inclusion of the caption in the photo itself indicates this is a Type 3 by PSA/DNA standards. Near Mint condition.
