Offered is an archive of material related to Elvis Presley's time in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, including a beatiful 8 x 10 enlargement photo of the young soldier in his dress uniform at a train station. These items emanate from the Eddie Fadal collection  the Texas DJ who befrieded Elvis during his time in basic training in Texas and stayed close with Elvis until his passing. Also included:

  • 1960 Elvis Yearbook magazine;
  • Western Union Telegram from "Tony Habeeb" to Eddie Fadal on September 17, 1958, delivered to Fadal's Waco, Texas home;
  • UPI Original News Service Photo from March 5, 1960, with embedded caption describing Elvis Presley showing off his discharge papers at Fort Dix, New Jersey (7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches with UPI backstamping);
  • Three October 1958 contact sheet photos of Elvis Presley disembarking from a ship and boarding a train as he enter Germany for his military service overseas; 
  • Three small snapshots of Elvis in Germany during his military service signing autograph, riding a bike and in a car;
  • Three period reproduction snapshots of Elvis on duty in Germany, fan club issued; and 
  • Four newspaper clippings from 1958 to 1960 with stories about Elvis' military service. 

The group presents in excellent condition overall, with a few pieces lesser.
