Offered is a display with autograph book signatures of John Lennon and Mick Jagger from 1966. The two signatures are framed with a photo of the two shopping on Portabello Road in London in 1966--which is very likely the day they signed these autographs! Initially the man who acquired the signatures in person on the famous London shopping district thought it may have been around 1968, but further research uncovered this wonderful article and photo in the June 18, 1966, issue of Melody Maker magazine. The headline reads "Portobello Road Summitt Conference" and the caption goes on "Top men from two of the world's top groups out for a stroll down London's Portobello Road; Mick Jagger (with Chrissie Simpson) and John Lennon (with wife Cynthia)." Amazing!! The two are housed in an elaborate framed display with the article to an overall size of 15 x 18 inches. Both signatures are accompanied by separate letters of authenticity from Beckett Authenticated. Excellent condition overall.
The original autograph book is also included and contains signatures including: Hattie Jacques (Carry On actress), Wally Grout (Australian Cricketer), Christopher Martin Jenkins (Cricket Journalist), Leslie Crowther (Presenter & Actor), Robert 'Bob' Keegan (Actor), John Boulter (Black & White Minstrel Show), Tony Mercer (Singer), Warren Hegg (Cricket), and others (no others legible).
