Offered is a fascinating, and somewhat tragic, collection of Elvis Presley 1977 concert tour documents that encompass not only his final tour, but also the August and September tour "that never was." Included is the tour itinerary for the "1977 Tour #5" from June 17 in Springfield, MO to what would be Elvis' final concert on June 26 in Indianapolis, IN. Also from that tour are two "Elvis Presley Show" "Room Assignment List" for the crew. The bittersweet item is the itinerary for the "1977 Tour #6" that was scheduled to commence in Portland, Maine, the day after Elvis passed. Also included is a handwritten letter from Bruce to Tom (Disken most-likely) with a scathing rebuke of the house sound quality of Elvis' concerts--that sound was handled by Bill Porter, not Jackson. It is unclear if he ever sent the letter. The final item is a collector favorite--one of the crew luggage tags that were used on the Elvis tours in the 1970s, a green version with "B. Jackson" printed on it.

The Bruce Jackson Collection - Elvis Presley Concert Sound Engineer

These items and another 22 lots in this auction emanate from the estate of Elvis Presley's Sound Engineer, Bruce Jackson. In the 1970s. Jackson worked with Claire Brothers Audio Enterprises and was responsible for the onstage monitor sound for Elvis Presley for 100s of concerts. The offered artifacts hail from that period of Jackson's career. He would go on to work with Bruce Springsteen for 10 years, and did sound for Barbara Streisand, as well. In addition to Presley, Springsteen and Streisand, Jackson mixed concert sound for Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart and the Faces, Barry White, Jefferson Airplane, Ozzy Osbourne, Carly Simon, Three Dog Night, the Jackson 5, Cat Stevens, Glen Campbell, Art Garfunkel, Procol Harum and Lou Reed. Jackson kept a vast and interesting assortment of backstage passes, crew ephemera and tour documents from his time with Elvis Presley, some of which have rarely been seen by fans. We hope you enjoy the collection.
