* From the Tommy Young Collection.

Offered is a grouping of jewelry belonging to Elvis Presley and given to his high school classmate, Tommy Young. The cuff links and tie clip are designed with musical notes and the second set of cuff links are silver colored with large black stones. The five pieces are all connected to a small notecard that also acts as the "letter of authenticity" from Tommy because he wrote out what the pieces were right on the card! The musical note tie clip and cufflinks are noted as "Sent to Elvis from Elvis Fan", and the other cuff links are noted as "(my cuff links) Mrs. Presley repaired. One stone had come off." At the top of the card it states "(Gave to me 1957)". As you can imagine, we have see many, many pieces of Elvis-related jewelry over the years, but this has to be the first ones that were actually repaired by Gladys Presley!

Tommy was a high school friend of George Klein, and in 1957 George re-introduced him to Elvis. Tommy ended up being swept up in the Elvis life for about a year, traveling to shows, recording sessions and often riding motorcycles with Elvis. In August and September 1957, Tommy accompanied Elvis and his friends on the west coast trip including the northwest tour, the Hollywood recording session and the concert in Tupelo, Mississippi. Elvis' cuff links and tie clip are "SWANK" brand, a popular men's jewelry maker in the era, and all the pieces present in very clean, Near Mint condition (Gladys' repairs notwithstanding!)
