In 1969, The Notre Dame Club of Chicago annual Knute Rockne Awards were hosted by broadcaster Jack Brickhouse. In consideration of his service, Brickhouse was awarded the offered trophy/clock that is engraved "1969 KNUTE ROCKNE DINNER / JACK BRICKHOUSE / WITH GRATITUDE / NOTRE DAME CLUB OF CHICAGO." At the December 9, 1969 event, Irish coach Ara Parseghian was the main speaker, and Notre Dame alumni Rocky Bleier (who had only recently been injured in Vietnam) and several Chicago High School players received "Knute Rockne Football Awards." For over half a century, the Rockne Gala has been the major fundraising event for the Notre Dame Club of Chicago – all proceeds go to the club’s Scholarship Foundation and SSLP. The clock measures 7 1/2 x 9 inches and presents with minimal wear and in working condition. Near Mint condition.
