By the late 1950s, cereal makers like POST had figured out that they had to appeal directly to the children eating their sugary cereals in order to get them into the mothers' shopping carts, and the offered 1959 uncut press sheet for a box of "Post Sugar Rice Krinkles" is a prime example of their efforts. The box art, which represents two full cereal boxes, features the toy included with the box, a "Mighty Mouse Blow Pipe!", as well as a clown offering up a big spoonful of the "sugar-coated crisp rice" cereal. The sheet's blazing color and images of Mighty Mouse jump out at the young viewers who would have seen this from their mother's side in the grocery store. On one of the side panels, several other Post brand cereals are promoted, and on the other is an offer for a "West Point Junior Cadet Cap." Handwritten notes in the upper left corner indicate this sheet was used for approval purposes during the printing process. It would make a perfect display piece when framed. The uncut sheet measures 36 x 13 inches and presents with just the most mild toning in a few areas. Near Mint to Mint condition.
