Offered is a classic Comiskey Park stadium seat. After its 80 year run as home to the Chicago White Sox Comiskey Park was demolished to make way for the new ballpark following the 1990 season. As part of the process, Sox ownership made bricks and stadium seats available to its loyal fans. While some seats were of a more modern 1970s or 1980s vintage, the offered seat is of the older, perhaps even pre-WWII vintage, with its wooden slats and layers and layers of green paint.

Built by White Sox owner Charles Comiskey and designed by Zachary Taylor Davis, Comiskey Park hosted four World Series and more than 6,000 Major League Baseball games. Also, in one of the most famous boxing matches in history, the field was the site of the 1937 heavyweight title match in which Joe Louis defeated then champion James J. Braddock in eight rounds that launched Louis' unprecedented 11-plus year run as the heavyweight champion of the world. The Chicago Cardinals won the 1947 NFL Championship Game over the Philadelphia Eagles at Comiskey Park. The Beatles, Aerosmith, The Eagles, Rush, Simon and Garfunkel, The Police and Michael Jackson all entertained fans at the Park, and in 1979 the famous "Disco Demolition" destroyed part of center field and caused the White Sox to forfeit the second game of a doubleheader! And the fans who graced this "#15" seat saw it all!

The accompanying letter on Chicago White Sox stationary reads “ Certificate of Authenticity / This is to certify the authenticity of the seat(s) removed from Comiskey Park after the 1990 season and purchased by ______.” The name has been left blank and the facsimile signature of White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf appears below the text. The seat measures 20 x 32 inches and presents with heavy layers of paint, visible rust and one missing “foot” which has worn away. Excellent condition.
