Offered are two tickets for the September 29, 1977, World Heavyweight Championship Fight at Madison Square Garden between Muhammad Ali and Earnie Shavers. One of them is for “Working Press Ringside,” and one is a regular entry ticket for the “1st Promenade.” The fight would be the 14th consecutive win for Ali in a streak that dated back to 1973. Shavers actually had Ali hurt in the 2nd, but Ali feigned even more distress to fool Shavers into thinking he was unaffected. The gambit worked, and Ali finished most of the rounds in strong fashion to win the decision. The 15th, especially, was strong, as Ali nearly put Shavers down. The larger ticket measures 4 ¾ x 1 ¾ inches and the press ticket measures 4 x 1 ¾ inches. The larger ticket is torn neatly at the perforation. Near Mint condition. The smaller ticket is laminated. Very Good condition.
