The song was certified gold on April 15, 1983, and the offered award is from that period. The song was featured and performed by Elvis in the film em>Girls! Girls! Girls! and recorded in just two takes during a session that produced the other soundtrack entries in March 1962 at Radio Recorders Hollywood Studios. The award's plaque reads “Presented to Elvis Presley to Commemorate the Sale of More Than One Million Copies of the RCA Records Single Record 'Return to Sender.'” The award measures 13 x 17 inches and presents with only very minor wear to the wooden frame.
