Offered is a prescription "Dosepak" for the drug "Medrol" that belonged to Elvis Presley. The flat prescription container has 13 of its original 21 tablets of the drug whose generic name is "methylprednisolone," which was prescribed by Elvis' Palm Springs, California physician, Dr. Kaplan, whose name appears on the label.

The label reads "ELVIS PRESLEY 4/17/77 As directed on package / #21 Medrol 4 mg Dosepak." The package's label was from the "El Paseo Pharmacy" in Palm Springs. Medrol is a steroid used to relieve swelling and pain.

After cancelling several shows due to health reasons at the end of March 1977, Elvis returned home to Memphis and was hospitalized for five days. On April 13, 1977, Elvis flys to Las Vegas and then travels on to Palm Springs with several companions, where the offered prescription was filled on April 17. During that trip, his Las Vegas physician, Dr. Elias Ghanem, flew to Palm Springs to attend to Elvis' ailing health. It is most-likely at this point that Dr. Ghanem ended up with this dosepak of Medrol, as he was attempting to monitor Elvis' medication intake.

The accompanying copy of a letter signed by Dr. Ghanem's wife, Jody Ghanem, from the original sale of a number of prescription bottles reads "This collection of Elvis Presley's pill bottles were left at the home of Dr. Elias Ghanem during the Elvis Presley's visits to the Ghanem's home in the mid to late 1970's." The offered dosepak of Medrol is listed last on the letter. Somewhat interestingly, only one of the 15 prescriptions was written by Dr. Ghanem. The others were written by Elvis' physicians Dr. Nichopoulos (Memphis), Dr. Kaplan (Palm Springs), Dr. Scott (Memphis), and Dr. Cantor (Hollywood). The dosepak measures 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches and presents with expected light wear. Near Mint condition.
