An incredible Type I photo capturing a key moment in the legendary career of Babe Ruth, his move from the New York Yankees to the Boston Braves. The reverse of the photo present with the original “ACME NEWSPICTURES, Inc.” stamping, as well as a “REF. DEPT” stamping with the date “MAR 1 1935.” The original paper caption is missing, but a later caption is attached and reads “Jude Emil Fuchs (left) owner of the Boston Braves and his new boss, makes attempt to conceal his glee as Babe Ruth bids farewell to Colonel Jacob Ruppert (right), who gave the home run king his unconditional release to permit him to take a new baseball job in the Massachusetts capital. The three are pictured in the office of the Yankees' owner in New York, where the important agreement shifting baseball's biggest drawing card from the American to the National League was consummated.” Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA. The photo measures 7 x 9 inches and presents editorial airbrushing and some mild waviness. Near Mint condition.
