It was standard practice for the Colonel and his crew to set up shop at whichever studio Elvis Presley was currently filming. The offered signs would have graced the office doors for the Colonel and his partner Tom Diskin while they were at 20th Century Fox for the filming of Elvis Presley’s film debut, Love Me Tender. The stiff, tan-colored cardboard signs have bold, black lettering. They read, respectively, “COL. T. A. PARKER” and “TOM DISKIN.” Tom’s sign measures 3 by 11 1/2 inches, as it should, but the Colonel’s sign has been trimmed to a height of only 2 inches. This was most likely done by the Colonel himself, as he often would take a portion of his own sign and label it with a moniker, such as “Snow Man,” to put on the door of someone else, such as a studio executive he was charming. The evidence of Colonel Parker’s shenanigans is seen in the form of the two included cut pieces with the remnants of the words “Snowman” in some form on each piece. Excellent condition overall.
