Offered is a charming 30-minute interview on cassette tape between Eddie Fadal and Sgt. William Norwood, Elvis Presley's Sgt. while he was in basic training in Texas in 1958. Eddie Fadal, of course, befriended the young Private Presley during his time in basic, and Elvis spent countless hours with the Fadal family at their Waco home. It became a real refuge for him. Sgt. Norwood recounts Elvis' time serving under him and explains the challenges they faced trying to make sure the superstar was treated normally and could do normal Army jobs like every other soldier....it didn't always work out! A sample of the audio is presented here. The tape presents in playable, Near Mint condition.
