The Jeff Doerfler Rock and Roll Collection

Rockhurst Auctions is proud to present The Jeff Doerfler Rock and Roll Collection including dozens of stage-used drumsticks, set lists, guitar picks and other ephemera, including "WORKING CREW" backstage passes that span Jeff's long career as a stage and lighting manager and stagehand.

After Jeff's untimely pasing last year, the collection was save by his dear friend Rita Disbrow. Ms. Disbrow will provide a signed letter with each lot. She remembers Jeff fondly--these are her words:

It was an honor and priviledge to be a very special friend of Jeffrey Doerfler when he abruptly passed away on June 17, 2021. This is his collection of rock n roll items that he accrued while working as a stage manager and various other titles at Polaris Ampitheater in Columbus, Ohio, and other performance venues in the Midwest. He was employed from June 1994-May 2006 when he received a serious back injury at Oz Fest and could no longer work.

These items you see went from the performer or musician directly to Jeffrey and were his prized possessions. He would want you, the new owners, to have the same respect for these items as he did and value them in the same way.

I believe he was destined for the stage life. As a kid, his mom would drip him off at the Ohio State Fair to attend concerts of whatever band was playing. He became more entwied in the buisness until he attained his dream job of working the venues. I know he went on tour with various groups including nine tours with Foreigner and became personal friends with Carlos Santana, Todd Rundgren, Stevie Nicks and many, many others. The stories of his experiences with the performances and the performers were many. He played basketball with Bob Seeger and attempted to provide a special type of nut that David Bowie loved to devour. Tina Turner's manager taught him how to fold clothes and trust me, he could fold clothes better than me. When performers would arrive and see that Jeff was in charge, they would be at ease knowing that the event in bound and out bound would go smoothly. Jeffrey lived life and loved it. He is another one gone too soon.
