Offered are a dozen letters written by Detroit Tigers great Mickey Cochrane during World War II. After coaching baseball at the Great Lakes Naval Base, he was shipped out to the Pacific Theatre. The letters are all written to Cochrane's wife--usually addressed to "Sweetheart" in the opening, and all are signed "Mike". He references playing baseball in one letter, and appears to have written to his wife several times a week--one letter indicates it was his second letter that day! It's a touching and heartfelt archive of a man a war. Pre-Certified by Beckett Authentic. Letters are remarkably well-preserved. Near Mint condition overall.
