Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for Elvis Presley's 1969 LP From Elvis in Memphis. The album was released in June 1969, and it was certified gold by the RIAA on January 28, 1970. The offered award is from a slightly later period in the 1970s based on the style. After years of recording only film soundtracks, Elvis began to segue back into non-film-related recordings with his 1968 Christmas television special soundtrack, also known as his "'68 Comeback Special." After this success, Elvis recorded From Elvis in Memphis, his 10th studio album. Released in June of 1969, the 12 tracks were recorded at American Sound Studio in Memphis in January and February 1969. Elvis used the American Sound Studio’s house band, known as the Memphis Boys, to give the album’s sound a country soul flare. The album reached the thirteenth spot on the Billboard charts and number two on the country charts, while the single “In the Ghetto” reached number three on the Billboard charts. The award measures 17 x 21 inches and presents with only minimal wear to the gold finish of the frame. Stunning Near Mint condition.
