Offered is a wonderful and impressive large display featuring the signatures of the cast of the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz and a 1900 FIRST EDITION of the original Frank L. Baum book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The seven signed pieces from Dorothy, The Tin Man, The Scarecrow, The Cowardly Lion and The Wicked Witch of the West include:

  • 1963 Judy Garland signed personal check;
  • 1964 Jack Haley signed personal check;
  • Margaret Hamilton cut signature;
  • Burt Lahr cut signatures (2);
  • Lyric sheet for "Over the Rainbow" signed by Jack Haley and Ray Bolger; and
  • Buddy Ebsen cut signature.

Ebsen was, of course, originally cast as The Tin Man, but he was forced to resign after it was discovered he had a terrible allergy to the aluminum dust in the silver face paint the studio used. He was hospitalized for two weeks, and recuperated at home for a month after! The first edition of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is in very well-preserved condition, with full binding and excellent color on the cover. Each of the signed pieces is accompanied by an LOA from James Spence Authentication. The huge display meausures 28 x 41 inches. Near Mint condition overall.
