Offered is a 1954 handwritten letter signed by President Herbert Hoover and authenticated by Beckett. The letter reads “Dear Friends, Bear with me fo rnot especially acknowleding you gracious message. The thousands of them makes that ?? impossible. I am grateful to you.” The missive is likely in response to a birthday wish, as he had turned 80-years old that month. Hoover served as the 31st President of the United States from 1929 to 1933 after gaining international standing as a mining engineer and as the organizer of massive World War I food-relief efforts.
