Offered is a VERY clean copy of 1954 Sun Records 223 45 RPM 7-Inch Single of Elvis Presley's “Mystery Train” and “I Forgot to Remember to Forget” with a completely intact label. The record number "223" is on the side of both labels, and not stacked with the title information--this is seen far fewer copies. Sun Records released the single of “Mystery Train” in August of 1955 with “I Forgot to Remember to Forget” on side B. Later that year, in November of 1955, after they purchased Elvis' contract from Sam Phillips, RCA Victor purchased the master records from Sun and released “Mystery Train” again that month, followed by the release of the additional four Sun singles in December of 1955. “Mystery Train” is considered to be the recording that gained Elvis recognition as a country music star and was ranked #77 on Rolling Stone magazine’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.” The offered Sun Records single 45 for “Mystery Train” contains matrix numbers which appear in the dead wax areas, with “45-U-156x 20” on side A and “45-U-157x 20” marked on side B. This examples has just minor wear to the vinyl with super-bright yellow labels, but does have a small clean notch on the inner ring.
