Offered is a 1963 Texas Longhorns National Champions Team Signed Football with 52 Signatures. In their seventh year under head coach Darrell Royal, the Longhorns compiled an overall record of 11?0 and finished as Southwest Conference champion. Texas concluded their season with a victory over Roger Staubauch's Navy team in the Cotton Bowl Classic and won their first national championship. The ball is hand-painted with the "UT" logo and "1963 National Champions. The squad had six future NFL players, including George Sauer and Pete Lammon, both members of Joe Namath's Super Bowl III-winning New York Jets team. Signatures include: Ernie Koy (NFL, Pro Bowl), Pete Lammons (NFL, Pro Bowl, Member of Super Bowl III Champion Jets), Tommy Wade (NFL), Phil Harris (NFL), George Sauer (NFL, 4x Pro Bowl, Member of Super Bowl III Champion Jets), Scott Appleton (All-American, NFL), Olen Underwood, BIll Ellington (Asst. Coach), Mike Campbell (Asst. Coach), Ernie Koy, Jim Besselman (2), Kim Gaynor, Tommy Mankin, Ken Halm, Howard Goad, Jim Hudson, Clayton Lacy, Tom Currie, Hix Green, Art Davis (Asst. Coach), Jim Pittman (Asst. Coach), Charles Buckalew, Jake David, Tony Crosby, Darrell Royal (HEAD COACH), Lee Hensley, Duke Carlisle, Russell Coffee (Asst. Coach), Dan Mauldin, Buddy Alldredge, George Brucks, Joe Galiga, Frank Bedrick, Staley Faulkner, Pete Lammons, Sandy Sands, Marvin Kristynik (2), Timmy Doer, Tommy Ford, Bob Casseday, David McWilliams, Joe Dixon, Mike King, Jack Howe, Ken Ferguson, Tom Stockton, Anthony King, David Roan, Ronny Landry and Barney Giles. Also included is a October 21, 1963 copy of Sports Illustrated with the headline "Texas is No. 1" and Duke Carlisle on the cover. The ball has toned with age, but the signatures present very readable. Excellent to Mint condition. LOA from Beckett Authentic.
