Offered is an Alternate Cover Production Artwork for Bob Dylan's 1971 double LP Greatest Hits Vol. 2. While the final cover art for the album features Dylan photographed performing at "The Concert for Bangladesh" in August 1971, this version utilizes a shot of Bob Dylan when he attended the first Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier title fight at Madison Square Garden on March 8, 1971, in New York City. The track listing only has 12 titles--and some that don't make the final cut--as opposed to the final 19 that appear in the double LP. It is likely that this artwork emanates from an earlier time in the production when these decisions were not yet final. The artwork was originally offered in a 1994 auction at Christie’s East--a copy of the page from the catalog is shown here for reference. Measures 12 x 12 inches, framed (no glass). Excellent condition.
