Offered is an Elvis Presley Owned Large-Collared Striped Button Down Shirt. The "Van Heusen" shirt was acquired from his cousin, Patsy Presley, who spent many years working for Elvis at Graceland. During that time, Elvis gave Patsy many, many items. The Van Heusen brand was associated with Sears stores in the 1960s and 70s, and Elvis often shopped at the Sears down the road from Graceland. The shirt was later purchased directly from Patsy by noted Elvis collector Tom Salva in the 1980s. The accompanying signed letter of authenticity from Salva reads:

I, Tom Salva have been an avid Elvis Presley fan and collector since my teenage years. Immediately after Elvis's passing in 1977, I began to collect authentic Elvis memorabilia. My personal relationships with the inner circle members of Elvis's life included Elvis's double cousin, Patsy Presley. Knowing these individuals, placed me in a position to acquire numerous personal items gifted to them, by Elvis. Because my acquisitions were in the late 1970's and continued through the 1980's, I was able to purchase memorabilia during a time when there were no concerns about fake and forged items, as they were non-existent. Patsy Presley worked at Graceland throughout Elvis's career. When Elvis passed, Vernon requested Patsy collect personal possessions from Elvis's bedroom and office for safekeeping as there was a concern items would be taken, as multiple people had access to Graceland at the time, including Elvis's Aunt Delta. Vernon became ill himself, soon after Elvis's death and of course would pass in the summer of 1979. I consequently purchased numerous items from Patsy Presley throughout the 1980's including an entire box containing multiple pieces of jewelry, some most likely gifted by fans, personal items such as credit cards and ephemera. Patsy of course, was as well given items by Elvis her entire life, as Elvis was one of the most generous individuals in entertainment history. One of the items I purchased from Patsy Presley, included this artifact: STRIPED VAN HEUSEN LONG SLEEVE DRESS SHIRT OF ELVIS'.

The shirt presents with all original tagging, including the care tag and the collar tag. Size tag reads "16 32/33" in the collar. One button has been replaced. The shirt presents in Near Mint condition.
