Offered is a 1970's Elvis Presley  Owned and Worn Sterling Silver and  Turquoise Belt. Originally from the collection of Sonny West, this American Southwest intricately hand tooled black leather belt featuring a sterling silver and turquoise buckle was owned and worn by Elvis Presley in the early 1970's - a period when Elvis wore a lot of this type of jewelry and accessories. He had various bracelets, rings, belts and even several choker necklaces similar in this style as it was very much in style at that time.

The accompanying letter, dated January 4, 1978, on Sonny West "TCB" stationary, reads:

"This silver turquoise belt buckle with a black western style black western style belt was owned and worn by Elvis Presley. He gave it to me in the early 70's when southwestern style turquoise jewelry became so popular. The belt buckle is a beautiful work of art. Elvis also wore many rings of this design as well. This belt buckle and belt will make a great addition to an Elvis Presley Collection of personal items."

Elvis is pictured here wearing a very similar belt, perhaps even made by the same artisan. Belt measures 40 1/5 inches, including buckle. The buckle with large pieces of turquoise measures approximately 3 ½ x 2 ¾ inches. The reveres of the buckle is marked "STERLING 925" indicating its silver content. Excellent condition with expected wear from use.
