Offered is an Ace Frehley's Carlo Robelli Maple Body Guitar with guitar case. Ace has signed a large piece of tape on the case and added "Keep up the Carlo Curly" (the case is not the original, but the guitar has been house in it for a long time). An advanced KISS collector with ties to the band acquired the guitar directly from Bill Aucoin's (the band's 1970's Manager) personal storage facility.

The guitar is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Damien Vivona, Producer and Director of the film Inside the Casbah, a documentary about the history of Casablanca Records & Filmworks. Vivona facilitated the sale of the guitar from the collector. The letter states in part:

Throughout the 1970s Kiss was a well-traveled oil machine they traveled. They traveled across the globe visiting many different countries and in those countries many different items that the band collected. Manager Bill Aucoin would always assist the band with making their purchases from "Aucoin Management"

Through their many travels the Spaceman (Ace Frehley) would pick up many different guitars they would be given carte blanche to different manufacturers in different countries the Spaceman would wind up with one of the greatest rock guitar collections in history.

These items were kept under lock and key and we're only used for promotional purposes and not for resale throughout the 1990s there would be many KISS conventions that these items would appear. Some of them lost and some of them were recovered and Bill's personal storage facility. Bill Aucoin would sell and sign at many of these conventions but the Holy Grail would be the stories that went along with those items.

This 1977 Carlo Robelli guitar was one of those recovered gems. Spaceman would consider this his CURLY because the top was constructed of curly maple. Endorsed on a piece of Gaffers tape or masking tape on the 1970s black chipboard case making this guitar A conversation piece for any Kiss fan.

This Curly Maple guitar with endorsed case were kept in a friend's collection and is now being passed on to preserve their promotional longevity and were given to honor the success of the band in the 1970s and will continue to be preserved for future reference. Given to management ,the road crew and other people involved with the band.

The guitar shows signs of heavy use with wear on the head stock--most of the logo has worn off--and scratches and marks on the back of the body. There is a great deal of wear along the bottom edge of the guitar, also a sign of heavy use. Excellent to Mint condition.
