Offered is a 1979 George Halas Signed copy of his autobiography "Halas by Halas”. The book was given to a “Ted” by Bears Hall of Famer Sid Luckman. A note from Luckman (secretarial signature) tells the man “Coach Halas said he would be happy to autograph his book after the first of the year if you return it to him. Please mention it was sent to you by Sid Luckman and he will see that it is autographed and returned to you.” And it WAS! Coach Halas also put a sticker on the dust jacket and wrote “Ted” on it—it is a sticker that commemorates Halas's birthday in 1980. The exact circumstances behind the book being signed by so many Football Hall of Famers and Stars and Chicago luminaries are unclear, but it does appear to have been passed around City Hall and the Bears lockeroom. The book is signed by: George Halas, Walter Payton, Bob Avellini, Johnny Morris, Terry Schmidt, Dan Neal, Gary Campbell, Roland Harper, Neil Armstrong, Mike Hartenstein, Sid Luckman, Jim Moore, Dan Jiggets, A.N.
