Offered is a 1984-85 Star Co. #195 Michael Jordan Rookie "1984 Gold Medalist" Olympic Card taken directly from the Sealed Bag and sent to PSA, where it received its Near Mint designation! The card color, surface quality and front centering are some of the finest seen from this tough basketball issue from Michael's rookie season. STRONG Near Mint condition.
SET BREAK! 1984-85 Star Company Basketball Complete Set in Original Factory-Sealed Poly Bags
This lot is part of a rare, factory-sealed 288-card 1984-85 Star Company Basketball complete set being offered in 12 offerings in this auction. The cards remained untouched in the 24 original factory-sealed poly bags exactly as issued in 1984-85. The highlight is the Chicago Bulls bag that contained Michael Jordan’s true rookie card (#101) along with two additional Jordan cards (#s 195 & 288) in the Olympic/NBA Awards bag. The two bags with MJ's cards were opened, and his cards were immediately sent to PSA for grading--the remainder of the team bags are being offered sealed. The set also features the rookie cards of future Hall of Famers Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, and John Stockton, as well as cards of Hall of Famers Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and more, all safely ensconced inside their sealed team bags. A true time capsule from the dawn of the modern NBA collecting boom.
