Offered is an Elvis Presley "1968 Comeback Special" Original Costume Sketch Signed by Designer Bill Belew. Nothing is more synonymous with Elvis than his famous jumpsuits. Every fan remembers Elvis' wonderfully spectacular variety of jumpsuits (nearly 100 different examples were made) by I.C. Costume Company designer Bill Belew. Before designing the fabulously extraordinary jumpsuits for which Elvis became known, Bill Belew was responsible for the designs for Elvis' historic '68 Comeback TV Special. On the offered original sketch, Belew has inscribed "'Elvis Special' Bill Belew 1968." His original note to one of his craftsmen states "Romano-Make suit in black cordovan leather. Follow jean suit as pattern. Line Suit in Black Silk. Saddle stitch in silk thread." The stylized drawing captures Elvis on stage in the black leather suit with a flaming red background. The artwork measures 13 1/2 x 15 1/2 inches and is framed to 18 x 21 inches. Near Mint condition.
